The Unfiltered Truth: Why Sugarcoating Is Overrated

The Unfiltered Truth: Why Sugarcoating Is Overrated

Let’s be real for a second—why do people act like honesty is a crime? Like, we’re all just supposed to dance around the truth, stroke egos, and pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows. Nah, that’s not how life works. And honestly, I don’t have the energy for it.

We live in a world where everybody wants “real” but can’t handle it when it’s served to them straight, no chaser. People say they want transparency, but the moment you stop filtering yourself, you’re labeled as “too much” or “negative.” So, what’s it gonna be? Do you want the truth or a pretty lie?

The Problem with Fake Politeness

I can’t be the only one who notices how fake people can be, especially on social media. Folks will hype you up in public but have a whole different opinion in private. They’ll clap for you online but never support your business, never share your work, and definitely won’t put you in a position to win. That’s why I don’t fall for the performative nonsense. I see through it every time.

I’d rather deal with someone who tells me straight up, “Hey, I didn’t like that,” or “I don’t agree with you,” instead of someone who’s smiling in my face but secretly hating. Keep it 100 or keep it moving.

Why We Need More Unfiltered Conversations

Too many people are walking around miserable because they’re scared to speak up. They’re holding back, swallowing their truth to avoid making others uncomfortable. But who’s checking on their comfort? Who’s making sure theyfeel heard?

That’s why I believe in having real, unfiltered conversations. The type that shake the table, make people think, and sometimes, make them uncomfortable. Because growth doesn’t come from comfort—it comes from confrontation.

If It’s Too Real, Then It Ain’t for You

I know this type of honesty isn’t for everybody. Some people prefer the sugarcoated version of life, and that’s fine. But if you’re here, reading this, then something in you craves that raw, uncut truth. And I respect that.

So let this be your reminder: Speak up. Say what you mean. Stop shrinking yourself to fit into spaces that don’t even deserve you. The people who matter will respect your honesty, and the ones who don’t? They were never really in your corner anyway.
